More Like X, Bluesky Will Launch Direct Message Features On Its Platform

JAKARTA - In the past year, the decentralized social media platform competitor X, Bluesky has grown from 40 thousand users to 5.6 million users.

To improve the quality of its services, Bluesky revealed its plans to launch the Direct Message (DM) feature, videos, improved special feeds, and much more.

We are working on a DM service that will be integrated into the Bluesky app. This service will be out of protocol' at first so we can develop it over and over again," the company wrote in its latest announcement.

How the DM feature works in Bluesky is the same as on many other social media, where users can send messages privately to other users.

'DM v1 will be one-to-one. You will be able to limit who can send DM to you (open, just follow the user, and disable). If you've used DM on another social network, it must feel familiar," he explained.

Then, where will it come, Bluesky will also allow users to be able to share videos up to 90 seconds long to its posts.

As for special feeds that allow users to fully customize their previously only web version of their timeline, they will now be present in the app version. This customized feed will also be more accurate in providing post recommendations to each user.

Then, Bluesky will also launch anti-harassment features and OAuth, which allow users to log in or create a service using a Bluesky account. Or you might find the option Entance with Bluesky.

All of these features are still under development. Bluesky may be launching in stages in the next few months.

We are very excited to provide the features you are asking for. We don't have a exact schedule, but you can see all of this in the next few months," he concluded.
