Persija Officially Not Participating In ASEAN Club Championship 2024/2025
JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta's firm decision was made regarding the 2024/2025 ASEAN Club Championship (ACC). The Club's President, Mohamad Prapanca, ensured that the Kemayoran Tigers did not take part in the tournament.
Persija Jakarta was invited to participate in the ACC 2024/2025 agenda because of their status as runners-up in Liga 1 2022/2023. Along with the Kemayoran Tigers, PSM Makassar as the champion of that season also received an invitation.
However, based on the considerations made by management, Persija chose not to take part. The reason is clear because the Kemayoran Tigers chose to focus on improving performance for the 2024/2025 season.

"It is an honor for Persija to receive an invitation to appear at the ACC. However, we consider the current situation not ideal due to schedule uncertainty, be it next season competition and domestic tournaments," Prapanca said in a club official release quoted on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
"We have to draw up the team's strength to improve performance in Liga 1 2024/2025 and prepare to participate in the domestic tournament which is reportedly also going to roll out simultaneously," he said again.
Referring to the inconsistency of performance in Liga 1 2023/2024, Persija will make the 2024/2025 season a moment to rise and target higher events.
Therefore, the management does not want the team's focus to be divided before entering the new season.
Regardless of Persija's decision, if referring to AFC rules, then League 1 champions are entitled to appear in the Asian Champions League qualifying phase.
Therefore, if Persija could win Liga 1 2024/2025 then they would have a chance to appear in the 2025/2026 Asian Champions League.
