After Budi's Sentence In Drug Case, Chinese Citizen Deported By Tasikmalaya Immigration
The Tasikmalaya Immigration Office in West Java (Jabar) deported a man from a foreign national (WNA) of the People's Republic of China with the initials XB (40) after completing his criminal sentence for a drug case.
Head of the Class I Immigration Office, Tasikmalaya Surjono, explained that the Chinese foreigner had been repatriated to his country via Tangerang Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) on Monday 6 May.
"The citizen of the People's Republic of China has been handed over after being released from the Class II Banjar (West Java) Prison on April 9, 2024 and then undergoing a detention process in the Tasikmalaya Immigration Detention Room while waiting for deportation," explained Surjono as written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 8, confiscated by Antara.
Surjono said XB was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of violating Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics on August 7, 2018.
"Based on immigration regulations, XB is then subject to Article 75 Paragraph (1) and 102 of Law Number 6 Year 2011 concerning Immigration and deported and on the deterrence list," he added.

Surjono added that the deportation of troubled foreign nationals is proof of the commitment of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of West Java in enforcing immigration law.
This firm action is expected to be a deterrent effect for other foreigners to obey and comply with the laws and norms that apply in Indonesia.
"We will also continue to synergize with relevant agencies to ensure that foreigners who are in the jurisdiction of Tasikmalaya and its surroundings comply with applicable regulations and norms," said Surjono.
