Amazon Becomes The Most Imitated Online Shop By Phishing Perpetrators

JAKARTA - Kaspersky's latest report states that the financial sector is still the sector most targeted by phishing criminals, with a total of 27.32 percent of all phishing attacks found.

Nevertheless, Kaspersky found where the number of users affected by financial PC malware decreased by 11 percent in 2023.

The well-known electronics store brand was identified as the main attraction, with 41.65 percent of phishing efforts detected.

Furthermore, the report sees phishing e-shop identified as the most common, recording 41.65 percent of the entire financial phishing page.

Of these, Amazon emerged as the most imitated online store, accounting for 34 percent of phishing efforts.

Then followed by Apple at 18.66 percent and Netflix at 14.71 percent, and the PayPal payment system is also a service that is widely targeted with a total of 54.73 percent of attacks.

Kaspersky also discovered Phishing and crypto asset-related frauds continued to grow, with Kaspersky preventing 5,838,499 attempts to follow crypto asset-themed phishing links, a 16 percent increase compared to 2022.
