Investigate Detention Extortion, KPK Will Examine Former Deputy Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Aziz Syamsudin Today
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission or the KPK summoned 8 witnesses in the investigation into allegations of extortion or extortion at the anti-corruption detention center. One of the witnesses summoned to provide information was the former Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Muhammad Aziz Syamsudin.
"Today at the KPK's Red and White building, the investigative team has scheduled the summons and examination of witnesses (one of them) Muhammad Aziz Syamsudin," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in his statement, Wednesday, May 8.
Meanwhile, the other witnesses are three private parties, namely, Rezky Herbiyono, Heindra Soenjoto, Bong Tjiee Tjiang alias Aseng.
Then, there is also Ainul Faqih who is a former House of Representatives Administration Staff. Then, M. Naim Fahmi as a civil servant, Dasep Sutrisno who is a member of the Satpom PP, and Mustarsidin as a member of security.
Previously reported, there were 15 people who were suspected of extortion in the KPK detention center. They include the Head of the KPK Detention Center Achmad Fauzi, former Acting KPK Karutan Deden Rochendi and Ristanta, and Hengki who are ex-Kamtib Detention Centers.
The suspects allegedly managed to collect up to IDR 6.3 billion for four years from 2019-2023.
The money was obtained from detainees in corruption cases with various amounts ranging from Rp. 300 thousand to Rp. 20 million. The handover is carried out directly or through a holding bank account controlled by the lurah and corting.
Prisoners then get exclusive facilities after giving money. One of them can use a cellphone or power bank.
