As A Result Of The Accident In Pasuruan, The Pandalungan Train Was 2.5 Hours Late

JAKARTA - The Pandalungan Train for Gambir-Jember connection has been delayed by 150 minutes or 2.5 hours from its supposed schedule. The delay occurred because the train was involved in a car accident in Pasuruan Regency.

For your information, an accident involving the Pandalungan Train (KA) with one car occurred at JPL 146 kilometers 70 + 8 / 9 Patuguran Village, Rejoso District, Pasuruan Regency this morning.

KAI Daop 9 Jember Legal and Public Relations Manager Cahyo Widiantoro said the Pandalungan train from Gambir Station was scheduled to arrive at Jember Station at 10.45 WIB.

"KA Pandalungan from Gambir Station arrived at Jember Station at 13.15 WIB or a 150-minute delay from the schedule should have been at 10.45 WIB," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, May 7.

"PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area 9 Jember apologizes for the delay in the arrival of the Pandalungan Train at Jember Station," he continued.

For this delay, Cahyo said that Pandalungan train passengers had been given a service recovery in accordance with applicable regulations.

In addition, those who were also affected by the incident were the Logawa train from Jember to Purwokerto Station which was supposed to intersect with the Pandalungan Train at Rejoso Station. Logawa train departed from Pasuruan Station to Purwokerto with a delay of 140 minutes.

"Despite the slowdown, the Pandalungan train from Jember to Gambir today, Tuesday, May 7, can be dispatched back at 14.55 WIB from Jember Station," explained Cahyo.

Cahyo said the result of the incident between the Pandalungan train and the car in Pasuruan resulted in four deaths and three victims were injured. Meanwhile, the car carcass has been secured away from the tracks, so the rail is safe to pass by the train again.

"The information we received was that the victims were a big family of the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School, Pasuruan. KAI expressed deep condolences to the victims, both those who died and the injured and their families who were left behind. KAI Daop 9 also regrets the incident," said Cahyo.

He also said that KAI Daop 9 Jember would communicate intensively with stakeholders, both from the Transportation Service (Dishub), the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA), the Police and the surrounding community regarding level crossings so that similar things do not happen again.

"KAI Daop 9 Jember urges and invites the public to be more careful when at level crossings, obey signs and provide opportunities for trains to pass first, for mutual safety," concluded Cahyo.
