Aceh Police Investigate Cases Of Residents Died After Arrested By Police
The Aceh Regional Police investigated the incident of a resident in North Aceh Regency who died after being arrested by the police in a case of alleged narcotics abuse.
Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Joko Krisdiyanto, said that the Aceh Police's Internal Security (Paminal) for Profession and Security (Bidpropam) is still working to investigate in North Aceh Regency.
"The Paminal Bidpropam Team of the Aceh Police is still investigating reports related to the death of a resident after being arrested by North Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit personnel," said Joko Krisdiyanto as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 6.
The middle officer of the Aceh Police emphasized that the Aceh Police are committed to taking firm action if a violation is found, both criminally and by code of ethics carried out by personnel on duty.
"We will be transparent in this case. If the results of the investigation are found that there are unprofessionalism or errors in duty, it will be processed according to applicable regulations. So, just wait for the results of the Paminal Bidpropam investigation by the Aceh Police," said Joko Krisdiyanto.

Previously, said Joko Krisdiyanto, personnel from the North Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit arrested Saiful alias Cekpon regarding the alleged possession of methamphetamine.
Joko said Saiful alias Cekpon was arrested in Blang Mee Village, Samudera District, North Aceh Regency, on April 29, 2024.
"During the arrest, Saiful fled on a motorbike and fell. At the location of the arrest, evidence was found in the form of a small package containing methamphetamine stored in a cigarette box," said Joko Krisdiyanto.
