Gibran: Presidential Club Bagus To Unite Former Leaders To Elderly

Elected Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated that the Presidential Club was formed to accommodate input from experienced elders/seniors.

"I think it's good to bring the former leaders, seniors, elders together," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 6.

Thus, in the future the government can obtain input from more experienced parties.

"I think it's very good so that I can get input from those who have experience," he said.

However, Gibran does not want to convey the concept of the Presidential Club which was originally proposed by Elected President Prabowo Subiantoitu.

"What is clear is that this proposal is very good. We will ask for opinions, seniors, leaders who have experience in leading the country, we will definitely ask for considerations," he said.

Regarding the opposition or coalition being asked for opinions, he ensured that input and evaluation could come from anywhere.

"It can be from people inside the coalition or outside the coalition. It doesn't matter. Once again, those inside the government, outside the coalition or former contestants, have the right to provide input," he said.

Gibran said that from the start he had said that he would embrace all parties.

"We are also ready to accept evaluations from all. So I don't think it's a problem," he said.

Previously, the Spokesperson for the President-Elect of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, Dahnil Azhar Simanjuntak, revealed Prabowo's plan to form a Presidential Club filled with former Indonesian presidents who are still alive today.

The establishment of the club, according to Dahnil, aims to keep former presidents routinely meeting and discussing strategic national issues.

Dahnil said Prabowo hopes that leaders in Indonesia can be united and harmonious in thinking and working for the interests of the people, regardless of their differences in views and political attitudes.
