Annoying Residents, 1.5 Meters Long Crocodiles In South Lampung Arrested

LAMPUNG SELATAN - Officers from the Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat) South Lampung Regency evacuated a 1.5 meter long crocodile that disturbed residents in Ketapang District.

Head of the Fire Department at the South Lampung Damkarmat Service, Rully Fikriansyah, said that his party had succeeded in evacuating crocodiles roaming the river and disturbing the residents.

"Members of the Kalianda post responded to reports of a crocodile that was very disturbing to residents. From that report, the team prepared equipment and headed to the location," Rully said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 6.

Based on the report, he said, the South Lampung Regency Fire Department sent officers to confirm the report and then took the necessary steps.

He explained that the evacuation of crocodiles did not take too long, it only took one hour. With the help of local residents, he continued, the crocodiles were immediately taken to the Damkar post and would later be returned to a place far from residential areas.

"The Damkarmat team deployed seven personnel with complete equipment to catch the crocodile," he said.

Rully explained that the crocodile's arrest began with a report from residents who had caught an estuarine crocodile measuring approximately 1.5 meters in Ketapang Village, Ketapang District, South Lampung Regency.

Therefore, his party appealed to the public to always be careful in their activities in the river area.

"We urge the people there to be careful, stay away from the river. If they see the crocodile appearing, immediately contact the fire department call center and local rescue," he said.
