The SAR Team For The Evacuation Of 8 Anglers Trapped In The Waters As A Result Of The Ship's Engine Died
JAKARTA - Fishing boats suffered engine failure in the waters of Sejuang, Central Bangka Regency, Sunday, May 5.
The Pangkalpinang Search and Rescue Office received information from the Polairud Polda Babel, then evacuated the fishing boat.
Kansar Pangkalpinang dispatched 1 rescue team that used RBB (Rigid Buyancy Boat) equipment to go to the location of the ship's existence, which anchored in the waters all along at coordinates 2 deg.04'21.3"S 106 deg19'29.2"E.
The Joint SAR team consisting of Rescuer Kansar Pkp, ABK KN SAR Karna, Ditpolairud Polda Kep. Babel immediately rushed to the scene.
Arriving at the location, the joint SAR team arrived at the location of the ship and immediately evacuated 8 anglers who were experiencing weakness due to sea sickness onto Basarnas' RBB (Rigid Buyancy Boat) ship.
Meanwhile, the captain of the fishing boat and his boat were pulled to the port of the Salah Alam by KM Putra Kembar who happened to pass at LKP and was escorted by personnel from the Ditpolairud Polda Kep. Babel.
"The ship was reported to have experienced engine failure in the open waters. Then we together with the joint SAR team from Polairud Polda, the Babel Islands moved to the scene to evacuate the anglers who were reportedly experiencing weak condition due to sea sickness," said Head of the Pangkalpinang SAR Office, I Made Oka Astawa when confirmed.

The fishing fishing boat was then evacuated to the Pangkalbalam pier. Meanwhile, from the results of the inspection, the fishing boat was known to belong to Basri (55).
"Previously on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at around 16.00 WIB, the ship departed from the Ketapang Pangkalbalam TPI Port with 8 anglers who rented their ships to go fishing in open water reefs," he said.
Then on Sunday, May 5, 2024 morning at around 08.50 WIB, the victim's ship experienced a dead condition on the engine and needed evacuation assistance.
