TKP Examination Results, Police Say There Are No Signs Of Violence Against Toddlers Who Died In The Water Channel: Victim Drifts When It Rains

JAKARTA - After receiving a resident's report, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Matraman Police, AKP Mochamad Zen and the East Jakarta Metro Police identification team visited the crime scene (TKP) where a toddler was found dead in a water channel sewer on Jalan Gang Salim 1, RT 03/08, Pisangan Baru Village (Pisbar), Matraman District, East Jakarta.

"We received information from the community that a community member was found dead in a water channel at around 11.00 WIB," said AKP Mochamad Zen when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, May 5.

Arriving at the scene, a toddler named Arlan was found dead in a sewer in front of a resident's house.

"There are no signs of violence against the victim's body," said.

From the results of the examination of a number of witnesses, the police suspect that the victim died as a result of being swept away by the flow of water in the sewer when heavy rains occurred on Friday, May 3.

"The victim's parents accepted this as a disaster or fate. However, we are still doing a post-mortem on the victim's body. The victim has been taken to the Salemba Hospital for further processing," he said.

The incident where the toddler's body was found began when one of the witnesses named Slamet Riyadi was cleaning up trash in the waterways because the waterway in front of his house was clogged with garbage. Cleaning up the garbage was carried out on Sunday at around 10.30 WIB.

"When the witness was cleaning the waterway, he saw the body of a male toddler in the waterway," he added.

The witness then reported the incident to the head of the local RT and forwarded it to the Matraman Police. Until now, the case is still being handled by the Matraman Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

Previously, it was reported that residents were shocked by the discovery of a toddler's body in a residential water channel on Jalan Gang Salim 1, RT 03/08, Pisangan Baru Village (Pisbar), Matraman District, East Jakarta, Sunday, May 5, afternoon.

The discovery of the toddler's body began when residents cleaned waterways in residential areas because there was an unpleasant aroma and a pungent smell.

"When cleaned, it turned out that there was a toddler's corpse squeezed by a small water channel. It had emitted an unpleasant odor," said Yusuf, a resident around the location.
