Palestinian Defense Demonstrations Spread To Elite Campuses In Canada And Mexico, Tenda-Tenda Protests Founded
JAKARTA - Actions of solidarity with Palestine inflamed by students on many campuses in the United States (US) have spread to France, Australia and most recently Canada and Mexico.
Citing the Times of Israel, student demonstrations against Gaza were bombarded in Israel's aggression against Palestinians in Canada covering elite campuses, namely Toronto University, British Columbia University in Vancouver, and Montreal University.
Not only one voice, the student demonstrators also set up camps in their respective campus areas.
Responding to the peaceful demonstration, Quebec Prime Minister (PM) Francois Legault was tough. He asked the demonstrators of pro-Palestinian students to be dismantled.
In Montreal, the University ofwas also considered student demonstrations disturbing by asking the police to intervene. However, until Friday 3 May WIB the camp on campus was still standing.
The action of pro-Palestinian students who voiced the abolition of apartheid in Gaza by Israel at the University often was not always smooth. On Thursday, May 2 local time, pro-Israeli masses came to disrupt the demonstration.
The pro-Israeli crowd put up a screen facing the camps of pro-Palestinian students and played video footage of interviews from former Hamas hostages.
From the two opposing parties, the police made barricades to divide the potential for clashes.

Based on statements from student demonstrators in Canada, tents will continue to stand on their campuses for students to rest so that they can continue to carry out their actions to voice anti-war in Gaza.
However, students will gradually disband themselves if the campus explains whether there is involvement with investment projects, divest with origin or pro-Israel companies that maintain the occupation and illegal settlements of Israelis in Palestine, including ending partnerships with a number of Israeli academic institutions.
"If public disturbances are the only way our voices are heard, then we are willing to do that," said a spokesman for graduate students demonstrating on campus, University of Toronto, Sara Rasikh.
Meanwhile in Mexico, Palestinian defense demonstrations were held at Mexico's National Autonomy University (UNAM), Mexico City. Masses of students set up tents in front of the UNAM Central Library as a form of protest against the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
UNAM demonstrators also think Israel has made efforts to genocide against the Palestinian people.
While unfurling the Palestinian flag, they also encouraged the Mexican government to cut off cooperation and diplomatic relations with Israel.
