Dozens Of Houses And Bridges Were Damaged By Floods In Aceh Singkil
The Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA) said that dozens of houses to bridges in the Aceh Singkil Regency area suffered minor to severe damage due to flash floods and landslides triggered by high rainfall.
Head of BPBA Fadmi Ridwan said the flood and landslide disaster occurred on Thursday (2/5) at around 19.00 WIB. This incident occurred due to high-intensity rain in the Aceh Singkil area.
"The victims were affected in Lae Bangun Village, Suro District as many as 82 families (KK). Refugees are still being collected," Fadmi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 3.
The areas affected by flash floods and floods were Lae Bangun Village in Suro District, Mukti Jaya Village in Singkohor District, Bukit Harapan Village in Gunung Meriah District, and Sumber Mukti Village in Kuta Baharu District.
According to him, the Aceh Singkil area has been raining continuously since Thursday afternoon, triggering floods and landslides that have suppressed residents' houses, public facilities such as village offices, health centers, recitation halls, schools, meeting halls, mosques, and inter-village roads.
"So two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles cannot pass," he said.

Temporary data from the Aceh Singkil BPBD stated that two houses were heavily damaged and 12 houses were lightly damaged.
In addition, the connecting bridge between Gunung Meriah District - Singkohor also landslides, connecting roads from Singkohor and Suro Districts, and Subulussalam City also landslides at several points, and connecting roads from Kuta Baharu District - Singkohor also damaged.
BPBD Aceh Singkil has dispatched a rapid reaction team to the scene by helping evacuate the community and property. BPBD also dispatched fire engines to the flash flood location to clean up mud material.
For now, continued Fadmi, the water condition in Lae Bangun Village, Suro District, Mukti Jaya Village, Singkohor District has receded.
"Meanwhile, in Lae Sipola Village, Singkohor District, roads are still landslides, Bukit Harapan Village in Gunung Meriah District bridges and roads are still landslides, Sumber Mukti Village, Kuta Baharu District, roads are still landslides," he said.
