Police Have Arrested A Gang Of Minimarket Burglars In South Lampung

Lampung Police arrested three suspects who broke into a minimarket in Natar District, South Lampung.

"The three perpetrators are T (39), Y (39) and F (37)," said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Pol Umi Fadilah Astutik, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 3.

The gang was burglarized with perpetrator T driving a silver Suzuki APV with BE 1046 DOJ number stopping in front of the Alfamart store. The other two perpetrators, F and Y, got out of the car and broke the lock.

After one of the locks opened, members of the Lampung Regional Police's Ditreskrimum who were passing (patrol) were suspicious. The reason is, the minimarket is open at an unnatural hour, which is four in the morning.

"Officers immediately checked the Alfamart. However, when the officers were in front of Alfamart, the perpetrator tried to escape by crashing the car at the officer," he explained.

The police took measured decisive action by giving warning shots.

However, the perpetrators did not heed it so the officers shot the car.

"After that, the perpetrator was arrested along with evidence brought to the Lampung Regional Police for further legal proceedings," he explained.

Meanwhile, from the results of the police interrogation, it was known that the three perpetrators from Mount Sugih, Central Lampung Regency had their respective roles.

"F is tasked with unlocking the lock using the L key, Y is tasked with monitoring the surrounding situation and T oversees the surrounding situation from inside the car," said the Head of Public Relations.

The plan to break into this minimarket was initiated by perpetrator T who invited Y and F on Jalan Lintas Sumatra Terbanggi Agung.

"The three perpetrators were charged with Article 363 Paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 concerning the alleged crime of attempted theft with weighting. With the threat of a maximum sentence of 9 years in prison," said Kombes Umi.
