Kominfo Still Reviewing Games Containing Elements Of Violence, What Will Happen To Free Fire?
Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi revealed that until now the government is still in the assessment stage regarding the blocking of games containing violence.
"We are currently reviewing this, if it is indeed disturbing, then just close it, it is very difficult," said Minister of Communication and Information Budi to the media on Tuesday, April 30 at the Jakarta Ministry of Communications and Informatics office.
Budi also admitted that he was arranging a meeting with representatives of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) to follow up on complaints against games containing elements of violence.
Because the government cannot immediately block the game. He continued, the Ministry must take a deeper look at the potential or impacts resulting from related games.

"Our game contains a lot of elements of violence. However, what kind of impact we are still reviewing objectively," he said.
Previously, KPAI said online games containing violence, such as Free Fire or other digital content containing violence, deviant behavior, and online gambling could be blocked according to the regulation of Permenkominfo Number 2 of 2024.
"From these rules, it is clear that it can (block) if it has an impact on the behavior of the children who take part in the game," said KPAI member Kawiyan, as reported by ANTARA.
