Ombudsman Proposes CPNS 2024 After The 2024 Pilkada, BPN Calls Its Authority In The Kemenpan RB
JAKARTA - The State Civil Service Agency (BPN) has stated that the proposal regarding the postponement of the selection of prospective civil servants (CPNS) in 2024 is under the authority of the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) to decide.
"That's Kemenpan RB. The delay has decided the Kemen-PANRB," said Director of Data Management and Information Review of BKN Wahyu at the Indonesian Ombudsman Office, Jakarta, Thursday, May 2, which was confiscated by Antara.
Wahyu conveyed this in response to the advice of the Indonesian Ombudsman regarding the postponement of the 2024 CPNS selection until the completion of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
Wahyu also said that his institution did not yet know about the discourse on delaying the selection of CPNS or prospective state civil servants (CASN).
Therefore, he said that the decision regarding the postponement of the CASN selection would be determined at the work meeting of the Ministry of PANRB.
"Yes, we will discuss it later in a coordination meeting, whether it can be pushed back or not in the Kemen-PANRB meeting as a policy maker and technical implementer," he explained.
Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Mokhammad Najih suggested that the CASN selection this year be postponed until the completion of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
"If I may propose, this year's CASN selection will be postponed until the election is completed so that it will not be used as a political commodity," said Najih at the Indonesian Ombudsman Office, Jakarta, Thursday, May 2.
Najih hopes that the ranks of BKN and related parties can discuss the proposal of the Indonesian Ombudsman.
"Hopefully this proposal can be discussed in the future on how to prevent the issue of CASN selection from being pending (delayed) so that it is not used as a commodity by political actors," he said.

He explained that there were concerns that the momentum of the selection would be part of political promises during the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
"For example, promising later on who supports me, I will make it CASN. Make ASN very possible in the campaign," he explained.
Najih said that the postponement of the CASN selection also needed to consider the discussion of ASN neutrality in the 2024 Presidential Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case at the Constitutional Court some time ago.
"In the Constitutional Court's decision record it is very clear, although from the decision it does not associate the ASN involvement process as part of what reduces the value of democracy, it is acknowledged in that decision that in the future the neutrality of state apparatus and ASN must continue to be improved," he said.
