Bandung Balkot Implements CFD Every Friday, Valid From May 10
JABAR - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) applies motorized vehicle free days (CFD) in Bandung City Hall every Friday.
Acting (Pj) Mayor of Bandung Bambang Tirtoyuliono said this program will be implemented starting next week on Friday 10 May 2024. This policy applies to all employees and leaders based at Bandung City Hall.
"We will start the Friday Car Free at the Bandung City Hall first. Next week we will start," said Bambang in Bandung, West Java, Thursday, May 2, quoted by Antara.
Bambang explained that the implementation of this vehicle-free Friday was an effort to encourage employees within the City Hall to use public transportation.
He assessed that currently City Hall employees use more private transportation, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.
"Later, employees will use public transportation, some use bicycles and some walk to the office. Employees can use the provided transportation," he said.

Bambang revealed that if the implementation of the program at Bandung City Hall runs smoothly, it will be implemented again in two other locations, namely in office areas on Jalan Cianjur and the Bandung City DPRD Secretariat.
Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Bandung City Transportation Agency, Asep Koswara, said that his party had prepared two transport buses with approximately 60 passengers.
"Currently we are preparing a location for the 'pick up pool'," said Asep.
Asep said the Transportation Agency together with the Bandung City Satpol PP would deploy officers to patrol around Bandung City Hall.
"Dishub together with Satpol will tour the city hall to anticipate a rogue employee carrying a private vehicle," he said.
