Harita Nickel Earns Net Profit of IDR 1 Trillion in the First Quarter of 2024
JAKARTA - PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) or Harita Nickel posted a net profit of IDR 1 trillion in the first quarter of 2024, with a gross profit of IDR 1.62 trillion compared to IDR 1.57 trillion in the same period the previous year.
During the first quarter of 2024, the company recorded revenue from contracts with customers worth IDR 6.03 trillion, or an increase of 26 percent year on year (yoy) compared to IDR 4.79 trillion in the same period the previous year.
Harita Nickel President Director Roy Arman Arfandy in an official statement in Jakarta, Thursday 2 May, explained that the company recorded an increase in mining production of 38 percent (yoy) in terms of production output in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period the previous year.
He explained that the increase in production was driven by an increase in demand for nickel ore from the High-Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) refining facility or hydrometallurgy-based low-grade nickel ore refining technology, and supported by PT Obi Nickel Cobalt (ONC) which has started to enter the production stage. at the end of March 2024.
"And with two other production lines which are expected to start operating in the next few months," said Roy, quoted from Antara.
Roy explained that the company's Smelter Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace or RKEF (pyrometallurgy-based high-grade nickel ore refining technology) had succeeded in activating all 12 production lines, reaching an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes of contained nickel.
"In the first quarter of 2024, production managed to exceed planned capacity, increasing ferronickel sales from the previous quarter," said Roy.

Apart from that, he continued, the expansion of the third smelter facility with RKEF technology at PT Karunia Permai Sentosa (KPS) is still on schedule to start operating in early 2025, which will add four new production lines with a capacity of around 60,000 tonnes of nickel per year in the first phase.
Furthermore, at the HPAL facility, he explained that production output had reached 16,716 tons of nickel contained in Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP) during the first quarter of 2024, or exceeding the installed capacity by 22 percent.
