LPEI Claims Badminton Katy Perry Made In Indonesia
YOGYAKARTA - Director of Business Development of the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI), Maqin U. Norhadi claims that Indonesia's eyelash exports have even reached the international market and have even been used by Hollywood celebrities such as Katy Perry. In addition, there are coffins exported to the United States (US) from the results of Indonesian SMEs.
Meanwhile, LPEI has now been able to provide export markets for SME players in 118 countries out of 197 countries in the world today. This includes the United States, Saudi Arabia, Germany, the Netherlands, Malaysia, to the South Asian region.
In this case, at least 26 SME export products have entered the international market, such as Kakao, Coffee, Bulu Mata, Peti Mati, Kraft Eceng Gondok, Kelor leaves, to Ant Sugar.
"There are more than 26 products that have been successfully exported, there are eyelashes, the eyelashes that Katy Perry uses are from the coffin," he explained in the Press Tour of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), Wednesday, May 1.
Maqin said that LPEI is preparing an e-commerce application to encourage the export of Indonesia's Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
According to Maqin, through this digital platform, SME entrepreneurs will also receive education on product development, export training, and marketing spaces at the international level.
"This is a marketplace. There is export education. Many of our SME actors are not ready to export. We are making a coaching program for new exporters. After they can export, they enter the marketplace," he said.
Maqin ensured that with this digital platform, SME products could become more widespread in the international market.

However, Maqin has not been able to convey more details regarding the platform's information because it will be launched to the public in the near future.
"So what is clear is that SMEs will easily be able to access them from anywhere, follow export education programs, and market their products cross-bordered. At the time of launching we will invite and ask for prayers," he explained.
Maqin conveyed that the requirement for SMEs to be involved in digital platforms is to have products and commitments to advance to class.
"There is no minimal business scale. What is clear is that we have to have a product first. We will educate them. Once they are ready, we prepare the product to enter the marketplace," he said.
