BTN Regrets Demonstration In Front Of His Office: Disturbing Customer Comfort
JAKARTA - The demonstration that took place at the Head Office of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk began to be troubling. On the second day of the demonstration on behalf of the Anti-Corruption Group (KAK) not only burned tires in front of the Bank BTN office but also forced it into the Main Lobby of the Head Office, thus disrupting the operations and banking services of BTN.
The demonstrators not only tried to enter the Head Office but also took provocative and intimidating actions and words against the management of Bank BTN.
"We respect the freedom of opinion carried out by the demonstrators, but we deeply regret the anarchic actions that greatly disrupt customer operations and convenience," said BTN Corporate Secretary Ramon Armando after meeting the demonstrators for mediation, in Jakarta, Tuesday 30 April.
Ramon explained that his party accommodated and listened directly to the aspirations expressed by the demonstrators.
"The action we expect is more peaceful, but it is unfortunate that the demonstrators this time are not in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations because it disturbs peace," Ramon said.
Regarding the demands made by the demonstrators, he emphasized, if there are individuals who claim to be BTN customers who are victims of ASW fraud, his party invites them to take the matter to court. So that the problems that occur can be resolved legally.
"We regret if there are individuals who claim that BTN customers are carrying out actions that tend to be anarchic to demand the company's accountability, outside of legal channels," said Ramon.
According to Ramon, BTN has been proactive in reporting ASW and SCP individuals who are former company employees to Polda Metro Jaya since February 6, 2023 related to criminal acts of fraud and embezzlement as well as forgery of letters. It is known that a number of fund owners are working with ASW to place funds in the bank with the promise to get interest rates of 10 percent every month.
These interest rates have never existed in banks, especially Bank BTN. The account opening process is also not in accordance with bank regulations.
"The fund owners also never came to the bank to open an account and never had a savings book or ATM card. They have received interest returns from ASW several times, but then the payments were not smooth and stopped," Ramon said.

Ramon explained, Bank BTN guarantees the security of all transactions of its customers by implementing Prudential Banking and Good Corporate Governance in accordance with statutory regulations.
"We are committed to taking firm action against any violation of the law and will not protect any party, including in this case bank employees who are proven to have violated the law," he said.
Furthermore, Ramon appealed to the public not to be tempted by high interest offers and not by the provisions of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) or the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).
"The public must be aware that if there is an offer with high interest rates and outside the reasonable, there must be something wrong with the offer. Don't because the interest rate is high, people will be dark eyes and irrational," he concluded.
