BPDB Sukabumi: 29 Buildings Damaged By The Garut Earthquake

GARUT - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, stated that the number of buildings damaged by the 6.5 magnitude earthquake in Garut to date has reached 29 units."Of the 29 units, 26 units are houses, while the rest are educational, public and worship facilities," said Head of Emergency and Logistics for BPBD Sukabumi Regency Medi Abdul Hakim in Sukabumi, Antara, Tuesday, April 30.The details, he said, were that 11 houses were lightly damaged and 15 houses were moderately damaged. The majority of the damage to the roof and walls of the house, there were no injuries, let alone fatalities in this incident.Then for public facilities that were damaged, among others, the Jami Attaqwa Mosque in Datardangdeur Village, RT 006/003, Cijurey Village, Gegerbitung District. Then the Aljami'ah building located in Tegallega Village RT 04/02, Tegallega Village, Cidologist District, and Cipaku Elementary School in Cipaku Village RT 11/03, Ujunggenteng Village, Ciracang District. All of them were moderately damaged.According to Medi, the damage to the building was spread over 21 sub-districts, but the worst conditions occurred in Tegallega Village, Cidolog District, where in the sub-district there were two houses and one building was moderately damaged."The value of the loss is still being collected and evaluated, but it is estimated that the impact of the earthquake centered in Garut Regency on Saturday (27/4) at 23.29 WIB in Sukabumi Regency will reach hundreds of millions of rupiah," he said.
