KPK Reports Achievements Of PSU Control In 2023 In Regions Down To IDR 6.7 T, Why?
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said there was a decrease in the achievement of controlling infrastructure, facilities and utilities (PSU) in 2023. The reason was due to delays in handing over to local governments until the operation stopped so that assets were quickly damaged.
"Based on internal KPK data, the PSU achievement in 2023 only reached Rp. 12.5 trillion, where the value decreased by Rp. 6.7 trillion from 2022 which reached Rp. 19.2 trillion," said KPK Region I Director Edi Suryanto in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, April 30.
"Some of the PSU problems that occurred were caused by delays in the delivery of housing to local governments after the construction process, the cessation of the operation period so that the PSU condition was not feasible, and the local government could not make PSU improvements," he continued.
The anti-corruption commission seeks to boost the control of PSU as an effort to save state finances. This is done by synergizing with the prosecutor's office, the National Land Agency (BPN) and related parties.
"We also (made, red) regulations for controlling PSU, including taking over PSU when developers were no longer there," said Edi.

Furthermore, Edi reminded the importance of coordination. He said the KPK could not move on its own in saving state finances or preventing corrupt practices.
"Synergy, that's the most important thing," he concluded.
