BNPB Updates Data On Damaged Houses Affected By The Garut Earthquake To 110 Units

GARUT - The National Agency for National Management (BNPB) noted that 110 houses were damaged due to the 6.2 Garut magnitude (M) earthquake.

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said the increase in the number of damaged houses in Garut was based on updating his party's data this afternoon.

"Based on the report from the BNPB Center for Recognition and Operations (Pusdalops), it was recorded that until Sunday (April 28) at 14.00 WIB, the total affected houses reached 110 units from the previous 27 units," Abdul said in his statement, Sunday, April 28.

Abdul said the paleg area affected by the earthquake was in the Garut Regency area. While the rest are in Bandung, Tasikmalaya and Sukabumi regencies.

"Garut Regency has 41 housing units, Bandung Regency 24 housing units, Sukabumi Regency 17 housing units, Tasikmalaya Regency 7 housing units, and Kita Tasikmalaya 5 housing units," he said.

In addition to residences, the M 6.2 Garut earthquake that occurred on Saturday, April 27, at 23.29 WIB also caused damage to public facilities buildings, such as places of worship, schools, offices, and health facilities or hospitals.

Therefore, for the steps taken by the local BPBD by setting up a tent and cleaning up the debris after the earthquake.

"(The steps taken) the West Java Province BPBD together with districts and cities plan to make improvements to public facilities, cleaning up the impact of the earthquake, as well as repairing residents' houses," he said.

Meanwhile, there were only 4 injured victims, now there are 8 of the 75 affected families (KK).

"The number of people affected by the earthquake has also increased. As of this afternoon, 8 people were injured as a result of the earthquake and 75 families (KK) were affected, of which this number was," he said.
