Kunker To Abu Dhabi, Menpora Dito Offers Investment In Sports Infrastructure In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo discussed investment opportunities for sports infrastructure development in the country with representatives of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government during his working visit to Abu Dhabi.

"The investment opportunities that we discussed started from joining the construction of a paralympic training center in Central Java, Youth elite training center in Cibubur and also discussing investment in sports facilities in the capital city of Nusantara," Dito wrote via his personal Instagram account @dioriotedj, quoted on Sunday, April 28, confiscated by Antara.

The discussion of investment opportunities was held in a meeting with the leaders of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund and the UAE Office of Development Affairs (ODA) on the second day of the working visit of Menpora Dito Ariotedjo to Abu Dhabi.

He said that apart from investment opportunities, his party also discussed opportunities for cooperation between the Ministry of Youth and the ODA UAE related to the pencak silat championship event in the UAE and also related to youth.

Dito supports the UAE ODA by correlating the Youth Volunteer Program with the Colab Ranger Program owned by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

"We are very happy with the cooperation that has been established, hopefully this can have an impact on the progress of the Indonesian sports industry," he said.

At the previous meeting with the Minister of UAE Education Ahmad Belhoul who is also the Chairman of the General Authority of Sports UAE, Dito also expressed his appreciation for the UAE's support for the development of Indonesia's pencak silat through the implementation of the world pencak silat championship in the UAE in 2024.

This support from the UAE government is expected to make pencak silat a genuine martial arts sport from Indonesia more global.

"Pecak silat is a sport that is the pride of our nation. Synergy with the UAE which pays great attention to martial arts is expected to encourage pencak silat to be more global," concluded Dito.

He added, since 1976 Indonesia's relations with the UAE have been well nurtured. This collaboration, he said, would certainly strengthen relations between the two countries that would benefit the development of sports and youth.
