Hospitals And Dozens Of Residents' Houses In Garut Were Damaged By The 6.5 M Earthquake
GARUT - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Garut Regency, West Java, stated that the results of temporary monitoring showed that dozens of houses and public facilities were damaged due to the impact of the 6.5 magnitude earthquake in the southwest of Garut.
"The total number of houses was damaged 41 units, the total health facilities were one unit," said Head of BPBD Garut Regency, totaling Anwar Saefuloh in Garut, quoted by ANTARA on Sunday, April 28.
He said the earthquake that occurred in the Garut Sea, Saturday (27/4) at midnight was quite strong in the Garut area and caused damage to residents' houses in a number of sub-districts.
The damage report, he said, was only temporary because BPBD officers and officials in the sub-district were still monitoring and also collecting data on the impact of the earthquake, including the number of injured victims.
"It's still going on (observation and data collection)," saidLAH.
He said that the area reportedly had damage, namely Pameungpeuk District, there was the Pameungpeuk Regional General Hospital (RSUD) building, one house in Pameungpeuk Village, and one house in Paas Village, and two people were injured.
Furthermore, Cilawu District contained a fort for the BRI Unit Office collapsed, two houses were damaged in Dayeuhmanggung Village, four houses were damaged in Sukamaju Village, two houses in Mekarsari Village.
The other area, Talegong District, the southern region, borders Bandung Regency, namely one house in Sukalaksana Village, and one house in Selaawi Village.
Furthermore, Sukawening District has two damaged houses in Mekarluyu Village, and Maripari Village. Then Cisompet District, there was one injured person and one house was damaged in Panyindangan Village.
Another sub-district Subinaraja five houses were damaged in Linggamukti Village, one house in Sukrateu Village. Garut Kota District has two damaged houses in Cimuncang Village.
The southern region of Garut, namely Pakenjeng District, there is one damaged house in Karangsari Village. Peundeuy District has one damaged house. Singajaya District has one damaged house in Mekartani Village, three houses in Sukawangi Village, one Pancasura Village house, and one injured.
Cikelet sub-district has a house in Amalagara Village. Wanaraja sub-district has three damaged houses in Sukamenak Village. Cikajang sub-district has one house damaged.
Cibalong District has a damaged house in Cigaronggong Village, one house in Karyasari Village, one house in Karyamukti Village, and in Cisurupan District there is one damaged house in Balewangi Village.

Apart from the house, there was also one unit of four-wheeled vehicle that was hit by canopy material at the Garut Police Headquarters.
Based on the BMKG report, the M 6.5 earthquake was centered at sea 151 km southwest of Garut Regency with a depth of 10 km and no potential for a tsunami.
