The Replica Of The First Auto Authentics In The World Will Be Auctioned! The Price?
JAKARTA - Replica from Karl Benz's Patent-Motorwagen, which is considered the world's first internal combustion car, will soon enter RM Sotheby's auction hall on June 1.
From its history, by the end of 1885, Karl Benz had produced a single cylindrical four-tactic gasoline engine and installed it on a three-wheeled train specifically designed for the machine.
Using ethanol-like fuel, this horizontally installed engine produces 3 deadlock4 horsepower to the rear wheels, and is capable of reaching an 8 mph (about 12 km/h) high speed recorded in one of the first trials.
Benz's car is generally considered the first internal combustion engine car. While still primitive in many ways, it also features advanced features such as electric exhausts, mechanically operated entry valves, and differential teeth.
Benz patented his design on January 30, 1886 and continued to develop it throughout 1886 and 1887. This car also went on sale to the public, as well as marking the birth of the automotive industry.

John Bentley Engineering's Authentication Replica
Since the original Patent-Motorwagen has disappeared, the collectors are turning their attention to an extraordinary replica made by British company John Bentley Engineering.
Replica made by John Bentley Engineering is considered the most authentic and thorough in restoring Benz's original functioning design. This vehicle has been produced in several stages since 1986, with the support of the factory - even Daimler-Benz itself had obtained one of the cars produced.
The Replica Patent-Motorwagen made in Bentley, which was offered this time, was obtained by the Dare to Dream Collection from a seller in England in 2016 and is still in condition when obtained. This car can be conditioned carefully, and then become an attractive machine to demonstrate or serve as an extraordinary display for the Mercedes-Benz collection.
With the design, machinery, and all the important details that resemble the original, it is clear that this car has a decent auction price. RM Sotheby's estimates that the auction will be in the range of 70 thousand-100 thousand US dollars or equivalent to Rp1.1 billion-Rp1.6 billion.
