Fredy Pratama's Drug Lord's Father Was Sentenced To 1.8 Years In Prison, Lighter Than The Prosecutor's Demand
SOUTH KALIMANTAN - The defendant Lian Silas, father of international drug kingpin Fredy Pratama, was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison.
The verdict against the defendant Lian was read out by the Chairman of the Panel of Judges Jamser Simanjuntak at the Banjarmasin District Court (PN), South Kalimantan (Kalsel), Thursday, April 25.
"The defendant was also sentenced to pay a fine of Rp. 2 billion, subsidiary to one month in prison," said Jamser.
The judge also decided that all assets allegedly obtained from the narcotics business owned by the defendant should be fully confiscated for the state.
In its ruling, the panel of judges stated that Lian Silas was legally and convincingly proven to have violated Article 3 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU).
On the verdict, Lian Silas stated that she was thinking about accepting or making an appeal. Likewise, the team of public prosecutors also expressed their thoughts.

"Indeed, there are several things that we still want to fight for for justice, such as that some land assets should not be confiscated because they belong to the family, not from the alleged drug business," he said.
The judge's decision was lighter than the prosecutor's demands, which at the previous trial demanded that the defendant Lian Silas be sentenced to imprisonment for 2 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 2 billion, subsidiary to six months in prison.
The prosecutor also asked that all assets confiscated from the defendant Lian Silas be confiscated for the state.
The evidence confiscated from Lian Silas included 108 banking accounts, eight motorized vehicles, Rp2.8 billion in cash, 32 plots of land and buildings with an overall asset value of Rp. 101.4 billion.
