Nokia Has Updated The 5G XL Axiata Network In Indonesia

Nokia announced that they had successfully completed a five-year project to modernize the 5G XL Axiata network in Central Java, covering around 4,400 points.

Through network replacement and addition of this new point, XL Axiata subscribers can now enjoy increasing network coverage and performance.

XL Axiata itself is one of the leading telecommunication operators in Indonesia and has activated 5G in a number of cities such as Semarang, Yogya, Solo, and Pekalongan.

In this agreement, Nokia provides solutions from a comprehensive AirScale portfolio as well as Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) solutions and the NETwork Performance Improvement (NPI) program, to modernize the network, and increase capacity, ensuring superior network performance.

This 5G infrastructure improvement by XL Axiata is expected to encourage 5G application developers to create and activate new 5G-based applications.

Head of Market Unit Indonesia, Nokia, Ozgur Erzincan also stated that Nokia will continue to be committed to developing solutions that encourage service providers to increase network capacity and customer experience.

Along with this, XL Axiata and Nokia also announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a co-development program on 5G Cloud RAN.
