PKB Has Not Yet Decided To Join The Prabowo-Gibran Government Coalition Even Though It Has Given A Code
JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) stated that it has not yet decided to take an opposition position or join the Prabowo-Gibran government coalition.Although, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin has given a code if his party wants to continue working with Prabowo."It's not there yet (the opposition or coalition). So today the PKB predicts that competition should not then divorce. But the competition must end with a good relationship. The issue of the coalition inside or outside will be decided later," said Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid at the PKB DPP office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24.Jazilul also denied that there were talks of seat rations for PKB if they joined the Prabowo-Gibran government coalition.According to him, today's meeting between Prabowo and Cak Imin was only in the context of gathering as well as entrusting the PKB struggle agenda to Prabowo."What is clear today is friendship while entrusting the vision of PKB's struggle," he said.Previously, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin stated that PKB wanted to continue collaborating with the Gerindra Party. The statement was said when he received the visit of the elected President and General Chairperson of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto.In the meeting which lasted for approximately one hour, Cak Imin admitted that his party wanted to continue political cooperation both in parliament and in government. Cak Imin also congratulated Prabowo after being appointed as elected presidential candidate for 2024-2029 by the KPU."PKB and Gerindra as parties that have been working together in parliament and in executives, want to continue to work together more productively. Moreover, Pak Prabowo as President-elect will face various development agendas that are so challenging in the future," said Cak Imin during a press conference at the PKB DPP Office, Cikini, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24.According to the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, the success of development is the success that all people hope for. "And PKB wants the people to smile happily in the future because of progress and prosperity," he said.
"Therefore, we hope that PKB and Gerindra will continue to collaborate in various fields of legislation and in various efforts to realize their success towards a just and prosperous society," continued Cak Imin.
