U23 Asian Cup Quarter-Finals: Young Garuda Makes South Korean Coach U23, Hwang Sun-hong Worried
JAKARTA South Korean team coach U23, Hwang Sun-hong said he was worried ahead of the match against Indonesia U23, in the U23 Asian Cup quarter-final match in Qatar. The match will be held at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Doha on Friday morning 26 April 2024.
The victory over Japan in the last match of Group B on Monday was considered not a real match by Hwang. The duel against Indonesia U23 is a real test for the young team of Ginseng Country.
Hwang has a strong reason to worry about the match later. First, he has a target to qualify South Korea for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Second, he sees Indonesia U23 as a very difficult opponent to tame. On South Korean paper, it is superior, but for Hwang it does not apply.
The real competition is just starting now. Indonesia is not a team that is easy to beat, we must definitely work extra hard to score goals. They are very energetic, able to close the entire field line with great magnitude. The one or two touch game they demonstrated was also very fast," Hwang said as quoted by Yonhap.
"I am very surprised to see coach Shin able to build a very good team in the Indonesian team. They have shown an extraordinary performance, and we have to really prepare ourselves to beat them," Hwang said again.
