The Thomas Cup 2024 Team Is Demanded To Appear Dancer To Bring Home The Title

JAKARTA The Thomas Cup 2024 team is required to appear part of the event if they want to bring home the title from the most prestigious men's team championship.

The 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup Championships will take place from 27 April to 5 May 2024 at the Chengdu High-tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium, China.

Indonesia, as the country with the most collections of titles in this event, is charged with bringing home the trophy from the 2024 Thomas Cup.

"The condition is that fellow athletes must be really in top condition and appear part," said Head of PBSI's Development and Achievement Division, Ricky Soebagdja.

In this year's edition, Indonesia is included in Group C. In the group, Jonatan Christie and his friends will be challenged by the defending champions India, Thailand, and England.

Of the three countries that are against Indonesia, only Thailand and England are still hunting for their first title. However, Indonesia still needs to be vigilant.

"We are in a group with even strength. We must have the right strategy in each number," said Ricky, the 1996 Atlanta Olympic men's doubles gold medalist.

In the two latest editions, Indonesia has succeeded in becoming champions and runners-up. The title was brought home in the 2020 edition while taking place in Denmark, while the runner-up position was won in the 2022 edition in Thailand.

Judging by the history of the tournament, Indonesia has collected a total of 14 Thomas Cup titles since it was held in 1949. This number is superior to four titles from China which are in second place.
