In The Same Fate As Ganjar, Mahfud Did Not Accept The KPU's Invitation: Half An Hour Of The Event Just Notified

JAKARTA - Vice Presidential Candidate number three, Mahfud MD said he did not receive an invitation from the General Elections Commission (KPU) to attend the elected presidential and vice presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka. He just found out that he was invited when confirmed by telephone.

"I don't know if there is an invitation, it's only half an hour before the event starts, there is a notification via this phone, Mr. to the KPU no, what I said, so I continue to know the determination event. So the time is not being chased, so I don't know if there is an invitation," Mahfud said in a written statement, Wednesday, April 24.

Mahfud said that usually there are coordinators who take care of this kind of agenda. However, they are no longer active.

Moreover, Mahfud had many activities to attend. Because, he began to communicate with his friends from various closed circles because he was running as a vice presidential candidate.

The communication restrictions were carried out because Mahfud avoided certain intentions. "I have many friends in various circles but during the running for the vice presidential election, I stated that there was no need for contact before the Constitutional Court was determined," he explained.

"Even so, it does not diminish my respect, I congratulate Pak Prabowo and Mas Gibran who have been appointed as President and Vice President for the period 2024-2029, good luck on duty," continued the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK).

Previously, Ganjar also admitted that he had just learned that he was invited to the appointment which was held at the KPU Building, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta today, Wednesday, April 24. As a result, he could not attend because he was in Yogyakarta.

The KPU officially appointed Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as president and vice president elected in the 2024 presidential election today, Wednesday, April 24. This determination is stated in the minutes number 252/PL.01.9-BA-05/2024.

The pair number two received 96,214,691 votes or 58.6 percent of the national valid votes. Meanwhile, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, who is the pair number 01, received 40,971,906 votes or 24.9 percent of the national valid votes.

Meanwhile, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, who is the number three pair, received 27,040,878 votes or 16.5 percent of the national valid votes.
