Named A Suspect, Sidoarjo Regent Files Pretrial Against KPK

South Jakarta District Court (Jaksel) received a pretrial application from Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor, Gus Muhdlor, for his status as a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"Yes, that's right (submitting a pretrial application) with case number 49/Pid.Pra/2024/PN JKT.SEL," said Public Relations of the South Jakarta District Court (Jaksel) Djuyamto in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the pretrial application submitted by Gus Muhdlor was related to whether or not the KPK had determined the suspect.

According to him, the first trial will be held on Monday 6 May 2024 with an agenda for reading the application and is scheduled to take place from 09.00 WIB in the courtroom 03.

"This pretrial is led by the South Jakarta District Court Tunggal Judge Radityo Baskoro," he said.

Previously, the attorney for the Sidoarjo Regent, Mustofa Abidin, stated that he would file a pretrial lawsuit regarding the determination of his client as a suspect by the KPK in the case of cutting employee incentives at the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) of Sidoarjo Regency.

"There are several other things that will be taken through legal remedies, including the pretrial later," said Mustofa.

Gus Muhdlor admitted that he respects the entire ongoing legal process after determining himself as a suspect by KPK investigators.

"In general, we respect all decisions issued by the KPK," he said in Sidoarjo, Tuesday, April 16.

The KPK has invited Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor Ali to file a pretrial lawsuit regarding the determination of the suspect against him by the KPK.

"The problem is whether he wants to file a pretrial or not, it is his right which is guaranteed by law as regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code," said Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak.
