Sharpening Togetherness For The 2024 Paris Olympics At The 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup

JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) asked the Indonesian badminton team to sharpen togetherness in the 2024 Thomas & Uber event to welcome the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Indonesia sent a team with full strength to the oldest men's and women's team badminton tournament in the world. The championship will be held from 27 April to 5 May 2024 in Chengdu, China.

The Secretary-General of PBSI, Fadil Imran, said that this team tournament needs to be utilized as well as possible by athletes, especially those who have confirmed themselves to qualify for Paris.

"However, do not let togetherness become a burden. Positive momentum since All England (2024) must be maintained until the 2024 Paris Olympics," he said.

A total of seven badminton athletes who have certainly qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics in the middle of this year have also appeared in the 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup.

They are Jonatan Christie, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Fajar Alfian, Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Apriyani Rahayu, and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

"The point is, from day to day, we save capital to face the 2024 Olympics better," said Fadil, who also serves as Chair of the 2024 Paris Olympics Ad Hoc Team.

Athletes above who have already passed the Olympics are still chasing ahead in Paris later. The results obtained at the 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup have an impact on that.

Badminton will be the backbone of Indonesia to get a gold medal in Paris later. This is the only sport in Olympic history that contributes gold to Indonesia.
