Plans For Mass Layoffs, Hundreds Of Polo Ralph Lauren Indonesia Employees Demo In Front Of The MA Building

JAKARTA - Hundreds of people gathered in front of the Supreme Court (MA), Jakarta voiced their concerns about the plan to terminate mass employment (PHK) faced by employees of PT Polo Ralph Lauren Indonesia, Tuesday, April 23.

In the action, a firm speech was heard from a participant who said, "Reject! Reject! The legal mafia should not be given a place in our country!"

"This is the second day expressing our aspirations from employees of PT Polo Ralph Lauren. Today we are also accepted inside as representatives of friends from outside the region who have also urged the investigation of the controversial PK decision number 9 PK/Pdt.Sus-HKI/2024, why 3 judges won Mojang HB who had been named suspects and DPOs. The decision also contradicts 2 mutually contradictory decisions against the decision number 140/pdt.g/1995/PN.jkt.pst and Supreme Court decision number 3101 K/pdt/1999." shouted Janli Sembiring a representative from the Employee Alliance of PT Polo Ralph Lauren Indonesia, in front of journalists.

Sembiring emphasized the importance of a review of the decision because it is considered to threaten the welfare of many employees who have the potential to be laid off.

In response to the protest, the Supreme Court (MA) stated that it would convey the aspirations to the Chairman of the Supreme Court. However, there are also demands to press for replacing judges, because they are considered to have held the same case.

"Responding from the Supreme Court, they will convey it to the chairman of the Supreme Court. Change the judge because he has already held the same case at the cassation level. Of course this needs to be questioned, we will demonstrate again until there is justice and our demands are met by the Supreme Court", he said

The action of burning photos of judges involved in this case was also carried out as a form of protest against decisions that were considered detrimental by the participants.
