Many Enthusiasts, A Number Of Dealers Do Price Markup Practices On Toyota Land Cruisers In The US
JAKARTA - Launched in early August last year for the North American market, the 2024 Land Cruiser received good responses from various circles. However, a number of vehicle sellers took advantage of their market interest in this model by increasing their price.
According to a Carscoops report, Tuesday, April 23, this price markup phenomenon occurred in a Maita Toyota dealer network in Sacramento, California, which offered the Land Cruiser First Edition for 91,295 - 91,645 US dollars (around Rp1.4 billion), up 14,950 US dollars (Rp242.5 million).
The price increase also occurred in Magnussen Toyota of Palo Alto, which offered two Land Cruiser First Edition worth 92,473 - 93,304 US dollars (equivalent to Rp1.5 billion), an increase of 15,000 US dollars compared to the recommended price.
This also happened to the Future Toyota dealer network in Yuba, California, by providing a price markup on the First Edition version of up to US$19,995 (amounting to Rp324.4 million). Thus, dealers set a price of US$96,690 (Rp1.56 billion) than the recommended price of US$76,695 (Rp1.24 billion).
This phenomenon does not only occur in Toyota Land Cruisers, but also applies this practice to a number of models ranging from Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, to Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.

While dealers may refer to the principles of supply and demand, it remains difficult to accept that they are openly raising prices for no other reason than they can, and taking advantage of customers who really want a new Land Cruiser.
However, the positive thing about this practice is to expel a number of potential buyers who refuse to pay this exorbitant price.
Built on the TNGA-F platform specifically for large vehicles, each Land Cruiser 2024 variant is powered by a four-cylindrical hybrid powertrain 2.4 liter turbocharged which provides a maximum power of 326 dk and a torque of 630 Nm. The four-wheel or 4WD drive system is combined with transmission of eight accelerations, ensuring maximum performance in exploring off-road terrain.
As a hybrid car, the Land Cruiser 2024 is also implanted with a 1.87 kWh NiMH battery for better fuel efficiency.
