Corruption Loses More Than IDR 19 Billion To The State, 4 ASN And 1 Entrepreneur In North Sulawesi Become Suspects

MANADO - The High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) of North Sulawesi (Sulut) has detained five suspects in a case of alleged corruption in the purchase of land expansion at Walanda Maramis Hospital, North Minahasa Regency (Minut).Head of the North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office, DR. Andi Muhammad Taufik, said that after being named a suspect by the North Sulawesi Special Prosecutor's Office, the five suspects were immediately arrested."The detention of the five suspects was carried out on Monday," he said in Manado, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 23.The five suspects are IR JK, YM, S, VL and ML respectively. A total of four people are ASN while the rest are entrepreneurs.YM, S, VL and ML together, with the suspect JK suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption in the purchase of land for the expansion of the Walanda Maramis Hospital, North Minahasa Regency, which resulted in state financial losses of Rp. 19,763,500,000, based on the results of the calculation of state financial losses by BPK RI.The suspects are suspected of having committed a criminal act of corruption as referred to in Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and added by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law no. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
Based on a detention order (stage investigation) of the Head of the North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office, the five suspects were detained at the Manado State Detention Center Class IIA for 20 days starting from April 22, 2024 to May 11, 2024.
