Daihatsu Announces Resume Delivery Of Rocky And Raize Hybrid In Japanese Market After Involvement In Scandal

JAKARTA - Daihatsu announced that its three products will be sent back to customers after the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism (MLIT) decided to revoke the suspension period for the model.

According to an alert from the company's official website, Tuesday, April 23, the three models are Move Canbus and Rocky HEV from Daihatsu and Toyota's Raize HEV.

According to MLIT, these three cars were revoked for the suspension of shipments because they had been confirmed to comply with the standard road transportation law based on the results of testing with the certification agency.

"We will work closely with our suppliers and sales firms, and as soon as preparations are ready, we intend to resume production and delivery," wrote Daihatsu.

A number of these models were temporarily suspended during the sale and distribution period as a result of the impact of the hit-test scandal carried out by the company. During an internal inspection, irregularities were found in the contracting test certification procedure.

In addition, manufacturers also ensure that old products whose production has been stopped have met the standard road transportation vehicle law, consisting of Daihatsu's Move Conte and Applause and Toyota's Pixis Space and iQ.

"We will continue to do our best to ensure these models reach our customers as soon as possible, while reaffirming our commitment to prioritizing safety and quality," Daihatsu continued.

Previously, the incident had resulted in the discovery of 174 new cases in 25 testing items, which occurred beyond the manipulation of the post-side crash test in May. Reports state irregularities in 64 models and 3 machines, including models that are under development and whose production has been halted.
