Jokowi Inaugurates Repair Of Three Roads In West Sulawesi Worth IDR 81.8 Billion

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to inaugurate the repair of 3 22.4 kilometers (km) roads in West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) today.

The implementation of the Regional Road Instruction (IJD) in West Sulawesi Province cost up to IDR 81.8 billion spread across 3 districts.

First, the handling of IJD in Pasangkayu Regency is 1 9.4 km long road with a cost of Rp. 24.4 billion, namely the Trans Sulawesi-Baras-Kapaha-Balanti-Motu section.

Second, in Mamuju Regency as many as 1 road, namely the Salubatu-Bonehau road along 10 km with a cost of Rp. 35.2 billion. Finally, in Mamasa Regency, there are 1 3.0 km long road with a cost of Rp. 22.2 billion, namely the Tabone-Nosu section.

Basuki said that the implementation of the IJD refers to Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 3 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Increasing Regional Road Connectivity.

As for the 2023 fiscal year (TA), the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Highways has allocated a national budget of IDR 14.6 trillion for handling 2,873 km of regional roads throughout Indonesia.

"The purpose of implementing the IJD is mainly to increase connectivity and increase the stability of regional roads in order to facilitate the flow of logistics and access to production centers," Basuki said in a written statement, Tuesday, April 23.

The head of Buttuada Village, Pelosian Hamlet, Mamuju Regency, named Rudi, thanked him for repairing roads in his area. This also has a positive impact, which is to accelerate travel time.

"In the past, when the road was still damaged, it took about 3 hours to get to Mamuju City, now it is only about 1.5 hours," he said.
