Launching The ESG Awareness Initiative, Central BPR Mandiri Introduces A Sustainable Micro Financing Program

JAKARTA - Central BPR Mandiri, a people's credit bank located in Bekasi Indonesia, is proud to announce the launch of the ESG (Central, Social, and Governance) awareness initiative entitled "Sustainability Efforts Start from Me!".

The launch of the initiative aims to foster a sustainable culture in the retail market and MSMEs in all provinces in Indonesia.

CEO of Central BPR Mandiri Trie Wahyuningsih explained, through this initiative the company is committed to empowering retail and MSME customers to be able to implement sustainable practice.

The reason is, management realizes the important role of these customers in encouraging positive environmental and social changes.

Trie further added that the Sustainable Micro Financing Program, which was recently launched by the company, aims to provide incentives to micro-loan customers undergoing ESG awareness training.

"This program offers better requirements, including lower interest rates and longer financing periods, as evidence of BSM's dedication to promoting sustainable finance," he added.

Meanwhile, to be able to organize a series of educational webinars that focus on increasing awareness about the principles and practices of ESG management in collaboration with a Singaporean company, CER Consultancy Pte Ltd.

Raymond Cheung, Executive Director and Lead Trainer at CER Consultancy, explained that he highlighted two goals of the initiative being carried out, namely awareness to educate and train MSMEs on ESG principles, and readiness to provide consultations for those who are ready to reach ESG standards, thus allowing them to meet the requirements for micro green loans offered by BSM.

"By doing this, the ESG initiative can truly provide benefits for MSMEs, in line with the requirements for emission of GRK Coverage 1 and 2 in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14064 and contribute to financial inclusion goals in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," he concluded.
