The Ministry Of SOEs Ensures That PT Timah Tbk's Business Continues To Run Smoothly

The Ministry of SOEs made a working visit at PT Timah Tbk, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, to ensure the smooth running and business performance of the state-owned company.

"Our arrival this time is to find out the company's business processes, performance and strategic steps as well as the challenges faced by PT Timah in running its business," said Assistant Deputy for Mineral and Coal Industry at the Ministry of SOEs Muhammad Khoerur Roziqin in a press statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, April 20.

He encouraged PT Timah to remain focused on working so that it could make an optimal contribution to the nation and state.

"We are moving this visit to PT Timah because we want to know about several things, because I am also new to the Asdep of Mineral and Coal Industries, so far in banking. Of course the challenges faced are also different," he said.

MIND Finance Director ID Akhmad Fazri said that with all the dynamics faced by PT Timah, MIND ID and the Ministry of SOEs wanted PT Timah to be victorious again.

"With all the dynamics, MIND ID and the Ministry of SOEs want to see PT Timah can recover again with government support from the regulatory side. For example, now tin has become a strategic mineral, one of which is to secure the mining business with regulations," he said.

"We hope that the transformation carried out by PT Timah can bring tin back to its heyday," he said.

President Director of PT Timah Ahmad Dani Virsal explained about the company's business processes, company performance, global equity business maps, Indonesia's tin ecosystem, strategic issues faced by PT Timah and proposals for improving tin governance.

"Indonesia has become one of the world's tin producers, it's just that there are indeed many dynamics that have occurred in this tin mining business for a long time. And at this time Indonesia has not even been a price maker for tin prices," he said.

He appreciated the steps taken by the Attorney General's Office and the Government which have supported the improvement of Indonesia's tin governance and trading system so that tin natural resources can contribute optimally to the nation and state.

In addition to listening to exposure and discussions with the Board of Directors of PT Timah, the Ministry of SOEs and MIND ID Team also saw firsthand the mining process on the Paramruay 3 Isap Production Ship (KIP) in Muntok Sea Waters, West Bangka Regency.

Not only that, they also saw firsthand the tin processing process from to being lead bars at the Muntok Metalurgi Unit.
