Preview Jordan U-23 Vs Indonesia U-23: Heavy Match Garuda Squad

JAKARTA The Indonesian U-23 national team will play the final match of the U-23 Asian Cup group phase against Jordan. This is a crucial match for the match for tickets to the knockout round.

The duel between Garuda Muda and Jordan in the third match of Group A will take place at the Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Stadium, Qatar, Sunday, April 21 at 22.30 pm WIB.

In the previous two matches, Indonesia suffered one defeat and one victory. The defeat was experienced in the first match vs host Qatar, while victory occurred against Australia.

One victory made Indonesia now fill second place in the group standings. Garuda is behind Qatar and followed in a row by Jordan and Australia.

With the current collection of six points, Shin Tae Yong's squad only needs a draw against Jordan to secure tickets to the quarter-finals.

One point from the automatic draw will ensure the U-23 Indonesian national team passes. If this happens then Australia's victory over Qatar will have no meaning.

If they play a draw against Jordan and Australia win over Qatar then Indonesia and The Socceroos both have four points. However, Australia did not qualify because they lost against Indonesia Matchday 2.

However, if they lose against Jordan, the U-23 Indonesian national team will be immediately eliminated. The reason is, in terms of the number of points, Marselino Ferdinand and his friends will automatically be passed by Jordan.

This scenario makes any results that occur in the Qatar vs Australian match will not have an impact on Indonesia. Thus, the match against Jordan is a life and death duel for Garuda.

The match against Jordan will certainly not be easy because the opponent also needs victory. The only condition for Jordan to qualify to accompany Qatar is that he can get three points from this match.

Good news for Indonesia is that Ivar Jenner will return to play in this match. He was previously absent against Australia due to the controversial red card he received against Qatar.
