Ready To Welcome New Directorate Of Technology, PSSI Will Interview Three Candidates In Qatar
JAKARTA - PSSI seems to be giving good news soon regarding the presence of the new Technical Director (Dirtek). This is known from the statement of the General Chairperson (Ketum) Erick Thohir who directly participated in the recruitment process.
Erick Thohir said that currently there are three strong candidates who will still go through a strict recruitment process. One of them is the agenda for direct interviews that will be conducted by the Ketum in Qatar at the end of April.
Regarding the location set, Erick Thohir said that it was an efficient place. This is because of the three strong candidates for the Director of Technology who come from the European region.
"One of them will be on April 21, morning I will interview several (candidates) of the Directorate of Research and Technology in Doha, Qatar," Erick said when met in Central Jakarta on Friday, April 19.
"There are three people (dirtek candidates). Incidentally, there are those from Europe, so they are closer (to holding a meeting) there (Qatar), if they come here (Indonesia) is clearly far away," he added.
Since the beginning of Erick Thohir's leadership in 2023, the figure of the permanent Director of Technology for the federation is still being pursued. The position was vacant after Indra Sjafri changed his status to coach of the U-20 age group national team.
Initially, PSSI had planned to entrust a German coach, Frank48uth, to fill the position of Director of Technology. But the coach had asked for adaptation time and turned out to prefer to be a consultant for the U-17 Indonesian national team.

While continuing to look for the most appropriate figure, previously PSSI had mentioned that the existing candidates came from Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and England. However, the federation still does not want to reveal the identity of which candidates will be interviewed in Qatar.
There are already three to four names coming in. I am reviewing who is the best. There are Germany, some from the Netherlands, some from Spain, one from England," Erick said in March 2024.
