Sandiaga Uno: Bali Has Not Experienced The Excess Tourist Visits
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said, Bali is again the tourist destination most attracted by tourists, but in general Bali Island has not experienced excess tourist visits (overtourism). "Actually, if Bali is an island, this is not yet overtourism, but South Bali. Since all are concentrated only in Nusa Dua and South Bali, this is indeed a significant increase in burden," Sandiaga said at the 2024 Halalbihalal Kemenparekraf event, in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, April 19. "Thus, he said again, there are still several regions in Bali that can be developed as ecotourism destinations, so that tourist visits are not only centralized in South Bali and Nusa Dua as a buffer for tourist visits. In the future, he said, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will ensure that tourist visits to Bali can be distributed to West, North Bali, and East Bali. So that the burden is not only in South Bali," he said. He also admitted, Badung and Denpasar are still magnets for tourists. It is also a big homework for him to build socialization so that other regions in Bali can no less beautiful to be visited by tourists, both domestic and foreign tourists.
