Not Responding To KPK's Call Due To Illness, Sidoarjo Regent Asks For Rescheduling

JAKARTA - The Regent of Sidoarjo, Ahmad Mudhlor Ali alias Gus Mudhlor, was unable to fulfill the summons for examination sent by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on the grounds of illness.Gus Mudhlor was originally asked for information as a suspect in the case of alleged cuts and receipts of incentive funds within the Sidoarjo Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD), today."I convey information that we all really respect the summons by the KPK to our clients. However, today the Sidoarjo Regent was unable to attend the summons for examination by the KPK because he was sick," said Gus Mudhlor's lawyer, Mustofa Abidin to reporters, Friday, April 19.With Gus Mudhlor's condition not prime, said Mustofa, his party has written to investigators to ask for a rescheduling of the collection of information against his client."This morning we submitted a letter requesting postponement of the examination to the KPK," said Mustofa.Ahmad Mudhlor Ali was originally named a suspect in the alleged extortion of employees within the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD).In this case, the KPK had already charged the Head of the General Subdivision of Personnel of the BPPD Sidoarjo Siska Wati as a suspect through a hand arrest operation (OTT) which resulted in the discovery of Rp69.9 million.
Furthermore, investigators determined the Head of BPPD Sidoarjo Ari Suyono. Siska allegedly cut a total of around Rp. 2.7 billion since 2023.The notification of the money cut is said to have been done verbally. Employees are also not allowed to discuss it via text message.
