Shin Tae-yong Reveals Two Keys To Success Of The U-23 Indonesian National Team Defeating Australia U-23
JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team won over Australia U-23 in the second match of Group A of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup.
Shin Tae-yong revealed the key to the success of his team being able to rise and win after losing controversially against Qatar U-23 in the first match.
Garuda Muda underwent their second match at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Doha, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, WIB night. The U-23 Indonesian national team managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory through Komang Teguh's goal in the 45th minute.
This victory opens up opportunities for the U-23 Indonesian national team to qualify for the knockout round of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. As it turned out, there were two keys to Garuda Muda successfully rising and proving the quality after the controversial defeat to Qatar U-23.

"I said before the match (to the players), we must not give up and must always be confident," said Shin Tae-yong in an official statement after the match quoted Friday, April 19, 2024.
"I've always said we have to prepare mentally strongly and they did well."
"They are struggling with a huge effort and are constantly growing. That's one of the reasons we were able to win the game," said the South Korean coach.
Shin Tae-yong further does not deny that Australia U-23 is a tough opponent. After the match, he did not even hesitate to praise the quality of the team nicknamed Olyroos.
"Australia is a very good team, we know that. They have good physicality, especially in individual speed, abilities, and good technique. We already knew we were going through a tough test. It was very hard," he said.
Three points from the victory over Australia have now put Garuda Muda in second place in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup Group A standings. Shin Tae-yong's men have collected three points after winning one win and one defeat.
After proving themselves against Australia, the U-23 Indonesian national team must again prepare for the final Group A match against Jordan U-23. The match will take place at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
