Leading The World Treasurer Meeting, Sri Mulyani Reveals The Importance Of Fulfilling The NDC Target

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and Dutch Finance Minister Steven van Weyenberg, chaired the 11th meeting of the Coalition of the Minister of Finance for Climate Action (CFMCA) in Washington DC, United States (US).

Sri Mulyani said that the role of the Minister of Finance is very important in meeting the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets of each country.

According to him, the position of Minister of Finance does not only play a role in financial contribution, but also real participation in the process of preparation, revision and implementation of the NDC, as well as in developing healthy macroeconomic and fiscal policies.

Sri Mulyani explained that there were three discussion topics discussed in the CFMCA meeting this time. Namely the first is about encouraging the function of the Ministry of Finance in supporting the implementation of NDC.

"Second, the elimination of subsidies that are detrimental to the environment gradually. Finally, global market mobilization is to finance the transition," Sri Mulyani said on her Instagram account @smindrawati, quoted on Friday, April 19.

Sri Mulyani said that this meeting was an important forum for the Ministers of Finance to be able to share experiences and best practices, including with the Ministry of Environment as a National Focal Point for the United Nations Framework on Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) in their respective countries.
