Today Chinese Foreign Minister Meets President Jokowi At The Palace, What Is Discussed?
JAKARTA - Chinese Foreign Minister (Menlu) Wang Yi met with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Thursday 18 April 2024.
Wang Yi arrived at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta at around 09.23 WIB. He came in a diplomatic corps CD 25 01 vehicle. The Chinese Foreign Minister was wearing a black suit with a blue tie. When he entered the Palace door, Wang Yi smiled while waving at reporters.
Previously, the news of China's Foreign Minister's visit to Indonesia was conveyed by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi when she met with the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Kang.
"A very good discussion with @AMB_Lukang from China (17/4/2024) ahead of the official visit of Foreign Minister Wang Yi @MFA_China to Indonesia on April 17, 2024," Retno wrote via the X media social account.
Wang Yi also met Retno first on Thursday morning. During the meeting, the two discussed a number of issues ranging from strengthening cooperation in the economic sector to infrastructure development.
Previously, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said the plan to visit Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Indonesia to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
"Through this visit, China hopes to implement a common understanding reached between President Xi Jinping and leaders of the two countries, implementing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and achieving more substantive progress in China-Indonesia development," said Lin Jian in Beijing, China, Tuesday (16/4).
