Jokowi Highlights The Long Congestion Of Lebaran Homecoming, Minister Of Transportation: Becoming A Study For Us
Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi admitted that he received several notes from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the implementation of Eid homecoming and homecoming transportation in 2024. One of them is about long traffic jams.
Budi said the input and suggestions submitted by Jokowi would be an evaluation material for the improvement of the implementation in the coming year.
"The president also conveyed his evaluation, especially regarding the congestion that occurred in Merak and several toll roads. This is of course a learning material for us for the implementation of Eid and Nataru Transportation in the future," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, April 17.
Overall, Budi claims that the implementation of the 2024 Eid Transport is going well. In general, the homecoming and homecoming trips behind the community this year went smoothly despite several records for improvement.
"We also apologize if there are still shortcomings in organizing this year's homecoming. We will use various notes, inputs, suggestions and criticism as a reference in making improvements the following year," he said.

Budi said that one of the parameters that was evaluated for the implementation of this year's Eid Transport was a decrease in the number of traffic accidents from April 4, 2024 to April 16, 2024, by 8 percent compared to 2023.
"Meskipun demikian ada peristiwa kecelakaan yang menonjol tetap menjadi catatan tersendiri yang harus dapat diperbaiki ke depan," jelasnya.
Furthermore, Budi said that in the implementation of the 2024 Eid Transport, the role of the community is no less important. Smooth homecoming can be realized if travelers travel while still following the applicable rules and regulations.
"In particular, we also appreciate the people throughout Indonesia who have adhered to traffic rules and recommendations from the government during the period of homecoming and return," he said.
