Attending The IMF-World Bank Meeting, Sri Mulyani Discusses The World Economy To Middle Eastern Conflict
JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati is in Washington DC to attend the Spring Meetings 2024 IMF-World Bank at the IMF Headquarters.
"I just landed in Washington DC at 12 p.m. and today I immediately held a meeting. My visit to Washington DC to attend the G20 meeting of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank which will start tomorrow night, and also a spring meeting representing the Southeast Asia Voting Group Constitution," Sri Mulyani said as quoted from the Instagram account @smindrawati, Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Sri Mulyani said that the meeting had a special mission, to talk about the global, regional and national economic conditions which changed very quickly with the conflict getting hotter in the Middle East and also the tensions that occurred in various parts of the world.
In addition, according to Sri Mulyani, tensions in the Middle East will have a very large impact on the global economy, both in terms of commodity prices, exchange rates, in terms of inflation, and global interest rates.
"This is a very critical time for G20 finance ministers and in the IMF-WB to discuss development challenges," he said.

Prior to attending the Spring Meetings, Sri Mulyani had started activities by speaking at the Brookings Institute, a well-known think-tank institution in Washington DC regarding the efforts of the Indonesian government to support the energy transition for many developing countries.
In addition, Sri Mulyani has also held a meeting with ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa to talk about the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) and the Asian Development Fund (ADF) Replenishments programs, to future plans from the Asian Development Bank.
"Tomorrow we will have a lot of very full meetings from 9 am to the evening, namely the G20 Dinner," he concluded.
